ADAM JOSEPH COPELAND.! EDGE

Adam Joseph Copeland was born on October 30th 1973 in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. Right from teenage Edge was very keen to get into wrestling profession as he had grown up by watching his favorite’s wrestlers Curt Henning, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels and Bret Hit Man Hart and his dream was to become one of like them in future. In his profession he has been crowned as King of the Ring in 2001 and is seven time winner of World Champion. He has also won four times WWE Championship and won Money in the Bank Ladder Match in 2005. On November 8, 2001 Edge tied his life knots with Alanah Morley sister of wrestler Val Venis but got divorced on March 10, 2004. After that in same year he married to Lisa Ortiz on October21, 2004 and got divorced on November 17, 2005. Edge had also acted in movie “Highlander Endgame” which was released in 2000. Edge also written a book on himself as his autobiography named “Adam Copeland on Edge” which was published on November 4, 2004.

dam Copeland, formerly known as WWE Superstar Edge, is an actor and retired professional wrestler, who is currently starring as one of the leads in the fifth season of the popular television series HAVEN for Syfy. Canadian born, Copeland's life in wrestling spanned two decades, and through his long and decorated career as "Edge", Copeland entertained millions of fans internationally while winning 31 championships overall in WWE - the most by any wrestler ever - including 11 world heavyweight championships. Copeland became the youngest wrestler ever inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in March 2012. As an actor, Copeland appeared in an instalment of the popular film franchise Highlander: Endgame, and also starred in the WWE produced, Bending the Rules opposite Jamie Kennedy. Copeland's television appearances include a recurring guest arc on Sanctuary, and numerous appearances as Edge in shows such as Clash Time, the Weakest link, Mind of Mencia, Deal Or No Deal, and MADtv to name a few. Copeland's autobiography, Adam Copeland on Edge, was a New York Times bestseller, and he is currently in the process of writing a second book. Copeland has a massive and dedicated international fan base, with a twitter following of over 750K, and growing daily. He lives in the mountains of Asheville, NC, where he spends his time hiking, biking, cuddling with his family.

t was at this time that Copeland began using the ring name Edge. He won the Intercontinental title quickly, taking that championship in 1999. His tag-team success with Christian led to seven WWF Tag Team championships. While they become well-known and popular in Tables, Ladders, and Chairs matches, the partnership broke up in 2001. Copeland, as Edge, has been a world champion nine times. He was also King of the Ring in 2001 and has been successful in getting a few film and television appearances.

Edge made his first television appearance in the late 1990s and appeared in pay-per-view action in August of that year. A staged feud with Gangrel ultimately led to an alliance called The Brood. That group became part of the Ministry of Darkness with The Undertaker in the lead. Edge battled his way to the top to take his first WWF Intercontinental championship in 1999.

Copeland, as Edge, became a popular wrestler with the fans and was very successful during the period from 2001 to 2004. This period involved some controversy with Christian, a match with Test in which Edge lost the Intercontinental title and a feud with Williams Regal. This period also included two key accomplishments in Edge’s career – tag team titles with Hulk Hogan and with Rey Mysterio.

Edge was a serious contender in the heavyweight division in 2005. He went on to take the WWE championship in 2006 and also fought a memorable match with John Cena. Edge and Randy Orton put together Rated-RKO, a tag team that soon held the team championship. Injury slowed Copeland’s activity for a short period but in January 2010 he was in the Royal Rumble match. Edge, who has been married and divorced twice, has been connected with steroid controversy within professional wrestling ranks. He remains a recognized superstar of professional wrestling in spite of the stories and rumors surrounding his personal life.

While feuding with Gangrel, his "brother" Christian debuted at the side of Gangrel. Edge eventually joined the Brood which was led by Gangrel.

The Brood then became part of the Ministry of Darkness which later merged into the Corporate Ministry. Edge & Christian left the Brood and Gangrel in 1999 and went on to become the most successful team in WWE history.

Edge & Christian:

As partners they won the World Tag Team Titles on 7 different occasions. Their 3 way feud with the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boyz was a classic as were the TLC matches they had against those teams. By 2001, the two men became goofballs that would allow fans 5 seconds of flash photography among other zany antics. In 2001, Edge won the King of the Ring tournament and that set in motion the undoing of this team.

SmackDown Superstar:

In the original draft, Edge was taken number 6 by SmackDown. While there, he feuded with Kurt Angle and won the WWE Tag Team Titles with both Hulk Hogan & Rey Mysterio. In 2003, Edge needed neck surgery and was off for a year.

RAW Star:

In March 2004, Edge was drafted by RAW. In June, he became World Tag Team Champ with the World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit.

In July, he became Intercontinental Champion by beating Randy Orton. He feuded with Evolution and Chris Jericho. In September, he suffered a groin injury and missed a month of action. When he returned, he asked the fans to vote for him to fight Triple H in the main event of Taboo Tuesday.

World Title or Nothing:

By fan vote, he and Benoit were to wrestle for the tag team titles at Taboo Tuesday. He walked out on his partner who would go on to win the belts. The Edge vs Benoit feud culminated in a 3 way match with Triple H for the World Title which resulted in the title being declared vacant. Around this time, Edge’s autobiography was released.

Matt Hardy & Kane:

Edge started 2005 off feuding with Shawn Michaels. At WrestleMania 21, he won a Money in the Bank ladder match which entitled him to wrestle for any championship whenever he wanted to within a year. A few months later, reality and wrestling story lines collided as he started going out with Matt Hardy’s girlfriend Lita. This led to a feud between the men and a feud with Kane who was “married” to Lita at the time.

Cashing in the Money in the Bank Twice:

At New Year’s Revolution 2006, he cashed in his title shot after John Cena survived an Elimination Chamber Match. He easily beat the worn out champ to win his first world title. He lost the belt a few weeks later at The Royal Rumble. A few months later he won the title from Rob Van Dam but lost it back to John Cena. In May 2007, he won the Money in the Bank title shot from Mr. Kennedy and used it to easily beat the Undertaker the following night after the Undertaker fought in a steel cage match against Batista and was beaten up after the match by Mark Henry.

Love Leads to More Championship Gold and Problems:

Edge started a relationship with SmackDown GM that allowed him to gain an unfair advantage to continue winning championship gold. In the summer of 2008, the two got married. The marriage didn't last for long and Edge would eventually find himself on the other side of Vickie Guerrero's wrath. In 2011, he beat Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania XXVII to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. That turned out to be his final wrestling match before he was forced to retire due to medical issues stemming from the neck surgery he had a few years earlier.
